Carved out of a single piece of wood, this magnificent pot was used to store herbal medicine to cure illness. Pot was also used in the context of divinatory rites; the feminine figures on the sides of the pot were seen as spouses of the male figure ( on the lid ) representing the spirits that possessed the diviner, and to whom were attributed curative powers.
