Handcrafted of indigenous hard wood, this beautiful and rare pot, with elephant motifs all around it, is presumed to have been used to store important herbal medicine to cure illness. The top of the pot also displays an elephant motif. According to Bamileke culture, images of elephant motifs on pots of this type, are associated with power and good luck. There is visible restoration on one side of the pot, possibly due to age or usage. Nevertheless, this magnificent pot is in excellent condition; and is carved out of a single block of wood.
