Royal Headdress

Situated in the province of West Kasai, the Kuba people have created a Kingdom centered around the royal ethnic group, the Bashi Bushong, established in the capital of Mushenge.
The Kuba art are mostly adorned with multicolored pearls, cowrie shells sewn and attached to fabrics. This beautiful piece belongs to the category of royal headdress. It is presumed to have been used during an outdooring of a new chief.
